I've been learning about digital humanities lately and thinking about the role of GIS in a liberal arts curriculum. Content can be paired nicely with mentorship on a variety of topics, so I think it's feasible at Drew. Here are some examples that I've started to collect:
1) A GIS student just finished a fun story map on literary London: http://arcg.is/1WfGsH6.
2) Here is a cool site on mapping social movements in the US (I see that environmentalism isn't hyperlinked yet - that'll be good to watch for): http://depts.washington.edu/moves/
3) Tuft's is having their GIS symposium this week and their website is awesome!! http://sites.tufts.edu/gis/gis-in-action/tufts-gis-poster-expo/ - maybe we need a contest and website with posts at Drew.
4) this webinar on EJ and GIS in a humanities class was so cool -
